I think this is the Gmail killer! A lot of things to say. If you have time, read.

I have never been so rushed to write a shout-out or review yet. But that changed here.

The discovery

Usually, I don't encourage anyone to subscribe to my blog, but it is their choice. But I saw that someone subscribed to my blog and their email looks suspicious. I was curious so I Googled the domain. Instantly I found the platform, I thought it was some kind of temp email service.

But when I explored further (in the Google search) I realized that it is much much bigger. Well, I got curious and I wanted to check it out myself. Okay, so I clicked on the website link. And it was down. So I checked the app. It was also down. Tried isitdownrightnow - It is also showing a down status. I tried to look for the status page but haven't found the link then. But got the Reddit community. And I asked the question.

As I was exploring more during this time I found the below link from an article. From the co-founder of Ethereum itself. That was all I needed as social proof - but I'm still curious why he said “dump telegram”🤔.

Within minutes I got several replies. Some users said it is down. I was getting a feeling of missing out. But still, I tried after a few minutes and I got access.

I was on my mobile and the onboarding was so smooth and the platform is more than I read so far! But after setting up I went to sleep and decided to check further this morning. And then when I accessed it on the big screen - it was much more than I experienced yesterday night!

These are some things I noticed and am excited about.

1. First of all a great UI for an email platform.

2. They have other products too - Mail, Drive, Pages, and Calendar

3. A generous free plan, great for a smooth start

4. With your account, you can create up to 4 email addresses on a free plan - I’m not talking about aliases here, that comes later. Now that is cool!!!
   Like yourname@skiff.com, yourname2@skiff.com, etc..

5. I don't know if it is my luck or what, but they launched a new feature called Quick Aliases yesterday! - which means you can create your own unique domain for free. Like “@yourdomain.maskmy.id” and with this up to 10 Quick Aliases. I have never felt so safe and simple with online tools.
   For eg; name@yourdomain.maskmy.id

6. We get a workspace with the account creation with up to 4 collaborators - another great offering.

7. Dark and light theme.

8. Connect a wallet to send and receive email from your Web3 identity.

15. They also provide a doc experience named “Pages”. Cool, try for yourself… There's even password protection, subpages, a watermark, and an export option.

16. Now last Calendar - With Jitsi meeting link if you like.

17. A friendly privacy policy section that is in plain English and legal words - I hope every platform will soon start to implement this.

21. They are using Matomo for analytics and they are clearly saying that “they do not use Matomo anywhere in the actual app (app.skiff.com)”.

22. They provide two tools - Have I Been Hacked and a Free encrypted online notepad.

23. Noise-canceling: silencing spammy and unwanted emails.

I’m not exaggerating by saying “Gmail killer”. This is my own experience and that too in the first attempt. Try for yourself and then decide. At this speed within a year or two, they will add several more features for sure I believe. Tried many other platforms but this is quite different.
