Can't wait, too slow: 2022 version
If you keep me on hold, I'll find another way. I'll not wait.
Remember this?

I remember first connecting to the internet with the Nokia PC Suite. Oh my! Now thinking it was super slow, but then it felt incredible. I guess it’s back in the 2010-2012 time period. A lot of things changed in these ten years.
2G, 3G, 4G and now super-fast fibre broadband.
Still, it’s ok for me to wait up to 5 seconds for a thing to process/load or to skip advertisements. More than that I’ll lose my patience and I’ll switch to something else.
I read in some carousel that Netflix does the autoplay trick to gain the attention of the user.
So why now I’m writing this one?
The other day when I was with my nephew, I noticed one thing. He was using the YouTube Kids app.
I intentionally switched to YouTube Kids from YouTube for him. YouTube Ads will irritate him and he’ll lose his temper and then I had to deal with all that. I mean why would I do that, right 😂?
So get back to the point. While he was watching some Cocomelon video, WiFi was a bit slow. So the video went black and some loading animation came. Within one second he begins to cry and throws away the smartphone. I mean I was like, come one can’t you even wait for 5 seconds! And he was like a big speaker with all his energy!
That got me thinking, nowadays this generation can’t even think about a second delay. They want everything instant. Or they will switch over to something else. If, in the sense of an online business, they will look for another platform.
Now think about the toll-free number calling and the long process of clicking here and there. And waiting while the automated announcements irritate you. Future will not tolerate that torture. Business needs to find better solutions in an instant.
